Pizza Dough Recipe

This is my favorite pizza dough recipe.

2 tblspns olive oil
7g (1 sachet) dried yeast
1 tspn superfine (caster) sugar
3 cups (450g) all-purpose flour
1/4 tspn salt
11-1/2fl oz (350ml) lukewarm water

Combine the olive oil, yeast, sugar, salt and water in a medium bowl and set aside until the yeast starts to activate and the mixture gets foamy (about 2-3 minutes).

Gradually add flour and mix until it forms a rough dough.

Turn onto a floured surface and knead for approx 6 minutes or until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Place in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with platic wrap until the dough has doubled in size. Depending on the temperature this step can take 1-1/2 hours.

When dough has doubled in size turn it back onto floured surface and knock back the dough. Knead lightly and leave, covered, for about an hour until it again doubles in size.

Dough is then ready to be rolled to fit the pizza tray.
