Best Pizza Sauce Recipe

This is the best pizza sauce recipe because it is so quick and easy to make. I use it as a base for all my pizzas and it has enough flavor that it is fantastic toppe with cheese and served as a margherita pizza.

4oz (120g) ripe plum tomatoes
3 basil leaves
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tablespoon tomato passata
olive oil

Cut and core the tomatoes and puree in a food processor, together with the fresh basil leaves. If you do not have a food processor the tomatoes and basil can be chopped very finely.

Stir in the crushed garlic, passata and 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil.

Season well and leave tomato sauce for at least 30-45 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.

Hi Maria

Thanks so much for sharing your best pizza sauce recipe.

It is great to have a classic sauce recipe that you can rely on. I always think a basic tomato sauce is the equivalent of the "little black dress" that you need in your wardrobe.

Maria has also submitted her best pizza dough recipe which this sauce will complement to perfection.

Thanks again for sending in your recipe.
