A Low Carb Pizza Crust
Portobello Mushroom Pizza

This low carb pizza crust is not what you would expect. If you want to get really creative with your crust, then try this Portobello mushroom pizza recipe.

It's easy, low carb and quite delicious!

This recipe uses the mushroom as the actual foundation, or "crust", for the pizza.

No dough, no flour, no kneading.

Keep in mind this mushroom pizza is going to be the size of, well, a Portobello mushroom, so you might whip up a couple of them to make a meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 large Portobello mushroom, stem removed
  • 1 tablespoon pizza sauce
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
  • a few sliced black olives
  • 4 slices pepperoni
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped

(Of course, select toppings to your liking)

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Place the mushroom on a baking sheet, and bake for 5 minutes in the preheated oven.

Remove from the oven, and spread pizza sauce in the cup of the cap.

Top with cheese and your favorite toppings (olives, pepperoni, garlic, etc).

Bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and golden.

Enjoy!
