Tortilla Pizza

Tortilla pizza is a great option if you're looking for a low carb pizza that is delicious and simple.

This low fat pizza may not sound like your typical pizza, but it's actually quite common, especially among those folks who prefer a low carb pizza.

It's also quick and easy to preparation required.

Obviously a tortilla is much thinner than pizza dough, so use your sauce and toppings sparingly as to not tear your tortilla.

It may take a couple of tries to get it right, but once you do, I think you'll enjoy this great crust alternative.

Tip: To really make your pizza low carb and healthy, try using a low carb or whole wheat tortilla.

  • Burrito size tortilla (or any size you have on hand)
  • 1/4 cup of pizza sauce (or simply mix 2-3 tablespoons tomato sauce with a tsp of dry basil)
  • 1/4 shredded mozzarella cheese
  • toppings of your choice which could include:
  • chopped green peppers
  • sliced black olives
  • pepperoni
  • browned, drained meat

Preheat oven to 375 degrees (F).

Place the tortilla on a baking sheet.

Spread the sauce on the tortilla (leave about 1/4" from edges dry).

Add shredded cheese and other toppings to your liking.

Bake for about 5 minutes or until edges are crispy and cheese is melted.

Enjoy this awesome pizza!
