Chocolate Pizza Recipe

This chocolate pizza recipe is a wonderful sweet treat for the pizza lover who likes chocolate pizza. This dessert pizza makes a great candy pizza.

This chocolate pizza combines two of most American's favorite foods; chocolate and pizza.

Of course, the pizza part of this is simply the shape. But still, what a great combination!

Yes, there a hundred different chocolate candies out there to dress up your pizza, but this is a very basic, chocolate recipe.

Nice and simple. Like apple pie, except wait, it's pizza!

Even the crust is chocolate! Rich and yummy!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • salted peanuts (optional)

Directions

Combine 1/2 cup shortening and 1 cup chocolate chips in a double boiler and melt (for a double boiler, I use a glass bowl and set it on a saucepan that has simmering water). Once melted, let the chocolate cool.

Stir in flour, sugar, eggs, and baking powder with fork. Spread the mixture onto a greased pizza pan. You could also try a baking stone.

Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool.

Combine 3/4 cup chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons shortening, and water. Melt in a double boiler like before. Stir until smooth. Spread glaze evenly over cooled chocolate crust.

Sprinkle chopped peanuts (or other candies, I prefer strawberries) on top if you like.
